Star's Sponsorship Page
Star (and her sister Libby) ended up with us through no fault of her own. Unfortunately, the only family she's ever known is going through a divorce. One of the previous owners desperately wanted to keep her (and Libby), but her current living arrangements prohibit dogs.
Star is a happy, goofy, playful Lab/Rottie mix. She is quite active and in great physical condition. Star was raised with children and cats and gets along well with other dogs. She knows basic commands (she will smile on command!!) and really likes toys - especially balls and soft, squeaky toys so she can extract the squeaker! Star is spayed, current on vaccinations, heartworm negative, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Star also has a microchip. Her previous owner took very good care of Star and it shows.
We've received several pairs over the years and most are just fine going to separate homes. Based on what we've seen with Libby and Star, however, they are really bonded and would do best staying together. Even though they have two cushy beds to sleep on, they prefer sleeping next to each other on the same bed! Also, they get very antsy if the other is gone for even a few minutes. Libby and Star will make terrific additions to a family with another dog or with a couple of children. Do you have room in your family for them?
