About Us

The Old Dog House is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) public charity.  We rely solely on the generosity of the individuals in our community for assistance in furthering our mission to give older and senior dogs a second, sometimes third, chance at living out their lives in dignity.

Sam’s owner was put into a nursing home. Unfortunately, there were no family or friends that could take Sam or his sister, Susie. They ended up at the Humane Society, but it was determined that they could not be considered for adoption. Sam is very active and enjoys playing with toys. He loves being around people and will give you his paw when he wants attention.

He is current on vaccinations, neutered, and on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Sam recently underwent heartworm treatment and came through without any complications. Sam rides very well in a car, is good on a leash, and knows a few commands. All he wants is love, attention, and affection. He gets along with other dogs, is obsessed with cats, but we are not sure how he behaves around children. Sam will make a wonderful companion to a family with lots of love to give. His pictures do not do him justice as you cannot see his neat personality.
